Smart Spending: Expanding My Wool Wardrobe with Intention

After finishing the 100-day challenge, I wanted to reward myself with something fun. The Sierra in Iris Blue was the perfect choice. But when I completed the shorter 9x9 challenge more recently, I felt it made more sense to spend the $20 reward on something practical—something I know I’ll reach for often.

Last summer while decluttering, I found way too many duplicate black leggings and yoga pants—more than I even realized I owned. It was a clear reminder that I hadn’t been shopping very intentionally. I was buying out of habit, not based on what I actually needed or used.

So instead of grabbing something just for fun, I used that $20 to add a navy Landmark cardigan to my wool wardrobe. I already have it in black and grey, and they’ve become essentials. Navy felt like the next logical color—something that would actually fill a gap, not just add to the pile.

Lately, I’ve found that sticking to neutral cardigans and layering pieces makes it easier to mix and match, while I save the brighter or more playful colors for dresses and tees. The Landmark cardigan fits that approach perfectly—easy to wear, versatile, and just the right weight when I want a little extra warmth, especially over something like my Sierra dress.
